PMP ONLINE TRAINING...

The advent of technology  had changed the way things were done hitherto. Technology is here to stay and would continue to evolve. Different walks of life had experienced the benefits brought by technology. This had revolutionalised way things were done in education, production, chip and bit, research etc. For the purpose of the topic under discusssion, we will limit our scope to education and training.

It is not uncommon to hear institutions and training outfits talk about online training. Technology made online training possible. It could be in the form of virtual institution, webinar and portal system. Amidts many advantages derived from online education and training; the most that stands out is training education without borders nor restrictions. The internet and multimedia technology have made it possible to have a real time virtual classroom. This is everything a physical classroom has plus more. It is education delivered to you at your convenience.

At this point we may purse and ask a question: Is it appropriate to apply online training to project management considering the complexity of the subject? The answer to this question is YES. Project management training is not different from other subject or course that required the transfer of knowledge. If the online training is propally established and has a technology that works; then you should expect nothing short of standard. We have a proven technology that works; you need internet, multimedia and working PC.

This is not a training for everybody, it is training designed for busy executives and individuals who are always on the go. The online training is a group based sizable class; except on rare occasion you have a personalised online training talored to that individual peculiarity. Elucidiated below are some of the advantages of Online PMP training.

A) It is more robust than online virtual university:
Most online university training are faceless. You dont get to see your lecturer or fellow students. This is
the reason the student is compelled to visit the university campus once before graduating. But the PMP
online training is a grouped based class session. Group based in the sense that it will have student
membership between 8 to 12. The system uses multimedia conference training in virtual classroom at the
convenience of your home or office. Every student will be seeing their fellow students and lecturer
     during online class training.

B) It is more than a webinar:
In webinar, most times all you have are ebooks delivered to you as lecture or lecture note. You dont get
to see anybody to discuss the lecture note. You read and digest your understanding. That is a limited
learning because you dont get the benefit to discuss and brainstorm with fellow students and lecturer.
Online PMP training is the opposite for the reasons explained in point A above.

C) PMP Online does not deploy student portal:
Virtual universities use student portal. In portal system; every student has a private portal where they
receive lecture notes, ebook, assignments etc. The student accesses the information in his or her portal
and submit replies through same portal. No human interraction! PMP online training have human
interraction throughout the duration of the training. This interraction is facilitated via technology where
face to face training is conducted.

D) Online Group Communities:
PMP online training would not leave you in the cold after your training. You are placed in online group
communities. These communities would vary in functions. You can belong to many communities ar same
time depending on your needs. You are never short changed.

We can go on with seemingly endless list of benefits you can derive from online PMP training. The synopsis of this write up is to allay your fear that this initiative may not work or will leave you short of the standard obtainable in conventional classroom. It is a myth, online training is here to stay. It give you the advantage such that you dont get to leave your business, career, job or disrupt your life style or schedule while you get trained. Go ahead and take this initiate and you will be glad you did.

Why Project Management

Nano Consultz believe in impacting human capacity building. Our toga of success says when you develop or invest in someone you are creating greater impact. Our interest in spreading knowledge in area of project management is beyond money or business. This is the reason we dont place emphasis on charging fee commensurate with the quality of content and knowledge available to those who attend our training. Simply put, the fee you pay would do enough to cover your course material , training seat / slot and hospitality. This does not in any way diminish the quality of our training and facilitators. Instead, we make bold to say our training is comparable to any standard within and outside the country.

What then is our gain?
Our gain is the human capital development and capacity building. It is our contribution to project Nigeria state. Nigeria is an emmerging state; we are journeying towards a great nation and development. We are still developing in all areas of our nation building towards becoming a developed country like our foreign counterparts in the western world. This in itself means there will be lots of projects springing up in the country for many years ahead. Every sector of the economy will be carrying out projects. The infrastructural requirements will initiate projects in construction industry more than ever. Technological requirement will initiate a lot of R & D projects. Manufacturing will initiate projects in production, ICT, banking, oil and gas project will also be immense. The Nigeria gas master plan and oil industry bill are platforms to initiate more projects in the years ahead. what more? You are not limited to being a champion locally. You can be on any project anywhere in the world because the standard we teach is the same all over the world and you will be speaking same project language with other project team.

Benefits of Project Management Training and Certification:
  • It is an international certification of repute like no other:  This is true if you look at the growing numbers of schools especially universities home and abroad offering master program in project management. Good as that may sound; I think you earn more respect if you have certification attached to your M.Sc. The certification means that you have been tested in practical terms and real life scenario in project management and you qualify to be hired as project manager.
  • Does not require re-certification like most industry / professional certification:  The standard and knowledge taught in project management is same. Updates on body of knowledge can always be studied through PDU. You never get to re-certify and your certificate is not obsolate.
  • You automatically belong to the elite group:  "Not everyone is meant to be a project manager" This assertion is true; everyone can not become a project because not everyone is capable of passing the rigorous 200 exam questions in 4 hours duration. But this is the reason you need us as trainers. We guarantee you will pass this exam at first try because we will make the course interesting to you. The field is not infiltrated and the number of project managers all over the world is still infinitesimal (http://www.pmi.org/).
  • You have a career path : You are guaranteed a career path in project management consulting, project management. You are also in line for pay rise on your current job beacuse organization recognise the importance of the certificate you have. You can add value to their company in many ways and also be a project team member in any project embarked by that company.
  • You are at advantage to apply this knowledge to real life project that is personal to you. The principle will deliver success anytime, any place.

You probably may have been involved in projects or never had. Chances are; you have been doing the right thing the wrong way and this has lead to difficult moments on the project or the project was an outright failure. The point is that you need to understand and speak the language of project management. Project Management knowledge areas (PMBOK 4):

1. Project Management Framework and Integration Management:
The framework captures the whole methodology of project management. It is a brief introduction of what is to come in the course of the training. Integration management prepare the ground for the skills required by a project manager to be able to apply the 9 knowledge areas and 42 processes to manage a project. Hence a project manager is refered to as an integrator.

9. Project Procurement Management:
This refers to all purchases or aquisitions of goods or services. Contracting and all forms of contracts.

NB: Professional Responsibility and test taking strategies and study techniques are bonus to the PMBOK module. However, Professional Responsibility is part of the testing questions you will be tested on. It is simply talking about your adherence to the PMI ethics and code of professional Conduct when you are managing project and relating with people within and outside the project during the project life cycle. It is all for the success of your project.

The Process Groups:

1. Initiation:
This is the process that initiate and authorises the project. It contains sub processes.

2. Planning:
This process plans the project viz a viz the work to be done, deliverable of the project, budget, schedule, procurement, staffing etc. It consist of other processes regarded as sub plan.

3. Execution:
This is the area where we carry out the project work. Here we are actually doing project management. Executing the plan that is laid out in the previous planning process.

4. Monitoring and Control:
This is where we have the project performance evaluation. measuring against a predetermined evaluation standard. Putting control on change, repair, rework etc.

5. Closing:
This is the final stage. It ensures that project is properly closed. Ensures that contract and procurement are well documented and closed appropriately.
